Bill Anderson

Bill Anderson is a broadcast veteran and one of the few on-air personalities in this city who was actually born and raised in Toronto. Bill grew up in the Beaches, spent his teens in Scarborough, and has lived most of his adult life in Etobicoke and Mississauga.

Bill's radio career has included virtually every type of musical format, from Pop to Rock to Easy Listening to Country to Classical. Bill says, "During all of the years when I worked the various 'pop-music' formats, I'd tune in classical music stations for my own personal listening time. Now, I can combine business and pleasure while hosting Bill’s Classical Jukebox on THE NEW CLASSICAL 96.3 FM."

Away from the microphone, Bill loves to travel. He’s hosted several groups of listeners on classical music journeys to Italy, France, Norway, Ireland, Russia, Finland and Sweden. Back home, he enjoys symphony concerts, live theatre and whenever the weather allows, a round of golf.

You are very much missed in the early morning "drive in" show Bill. I used to listen to you every weekday on the way to work; you were part of the routine. How sad that sometimes I don't even realize I'm not listening some mornings now. Won't you come back for a visit????

Bill:

I usually listen to Classical 96.3 F.M. gong to and from my work early in the morning and after 5:00 P.M. Definitely, the morning show is not the same without you. I don't want to critizice Mike and Jean, but sincerely, I don't think it was a possitive change. I hope one day you'll come back to that the early morning show.....

Thanks

I moved to Canada only three years back, and since then this station has been my companion through all the tough times and good times, brought tears to my eyes many times and delight to my heart some other times.
I enjoy your love for music and you do reflect to your listeners how much you enjoy it as it plays. You make it sound better...
Have a happy Holiday!!

If you grew up in "The Beaches" you know it's really "The Beach". Seriously, I like your show.

i was listening to your interview with paul potts on wed., the 17th: i was so moved by his singing tears were just flowing, while i was carrying/hugging/dancing with my 2 1/2-year-old daughter who then said, "Mama, opera - i like it so much !"
That was indeed a blissful moment ! (I've gradually introduced classical/music , and even taize music,to her, since adopting her 10 months ago and she enjoys most of them). She knows "mama's music", when we're not listening to rhymes/kids' songs.
I tried to call in for paul's giveaway CD - but couldn't ever get through. even at 7:45 for the trivia; just no luck (there must be a secret to get through with all the callers !)
Thanks for a wonderful station !
