The Firebird

The Firebird is a 1910 ballet created by composer Igor Stravinsky and choreographer Michel Fokine. The ballet was Stravinsky’s breakthrough piece. It was also the first of Sergei Dighilev’s Ballets Russes to have an all-original score composed for it. The ballet premiered in Paris on June 25, 1910. It has seen a number of revivals, most recently, the American Ballet Theatre premiered the Firebird choreographed by Alexei Ratmansky in the spring of 2012.
