Cellist Mischa Maisky will be live in our Concert Lobby on May 2, 2012 from 12 to 1PM.
He began his studies at the Leningrad Conservatory and later studied at the Moscow Conservatory with Mstislav Rostropovich. He is the only cellist in the world to have studied with both Rostropovich and Gregor Piatigorsky. Rostropovich has called Maisky “… one of the most outstanding talents of the younger generation of cellists. His playing combines poetry and exquisite delicacy with great temperament and brilliant technique.”
Maisky will be performing with Yuri Bashmet and the Moscow Soloists at Roy Thompson Hall on May 3, 2012. For tickets and more information visit roythomson.com.
