My Mom is Best - Winner #1

Posted May 7th, 2008 by webmaster

My Mom, Mrs. Ninette Kalfa, is the best Mom one could have.

The most unselfish person I know did everything and anything she could for us (her 4 children) anytime, all the time. She sacrificed whatever needed to be sacrificed, always, for the benefit of her children.

We came to Canada when we were very little, with no money and were very poor. She always made sure that we had all the necessities a child growing up needs in regards to clothes, education, love, attention and affection. Even all our friends called her 'Ema' (Hebrew for Mom). She always made all our friends feel comfortable and that is why we never got into any trouble like some of the kids in our neighbourhood. We grew up loving and respecting our mother and always confident that she loved and respected us and our choice in friends.

As I got older and started my own family I had who to emulate. My Mom was always there to support me and help me, if I needed help; give advice, if I asked for it; encouraged me when times got a little hard. Even now, in her senior years of chronic pain and lack of the physical strength and energy she enjoyed in her younger years she still thinks of ways to be a part of and help her family of children and grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Yes, my Mom is the Best. I love her. My children love her and my grandchildren love her.

Happy mother's day, Ema, today and every day, because every day is mother's day.
