Tom Sokoloski and Jenny-Anne McCowan, work together to create “site-specific public participatory art installations.” Their studio, Thomas and Guinevere is currently working on a project entitled The Encampment. The work is large-scale installation in which “a dig for artifacts is replaced by a dig into the collective memory of a public space and its history.”
The projects will incorporate 200 tents that will house individual installations that are inspired by the people who shaped Toronto’s past.
Jenny-Anne McCowan spoke to Jean Stilwell and Mike Duncan about this upcoming project.
The project will be premiere on June 8, 2012. If you are interested in participating in The Encampment, further details can be found on thomasandguinevere.com
