Next month young musicians from over 30 countries will make their way to Suffolk, UK to form the Aldeburgh World Orchestra. The orchestra will spend a month in residence before performing at the Aldeburgh Music festival and later the BBC Proms in London. The organizers hope for this to be a sort of “orchestral olympics.”

British conductor Sir Mark Elder will lead these young musicians in performances of Britten, Mahler, Shostakovitch and Stravinsky. They will also perform the world premier of a new commission by young composer Charlotte Bray.
